Weren't there about 10 episodes like that? I can think of the one where Data got possessed by a moussaka and another when the computer was controlled by some smarty pants circuits and communicated using holographic metaphors.

I'm thinking of the one at the end of season seven, where it communicates using an Orient Express program on the holodeck (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT).

That one was utter shit. I mean, it was an interesting idea, but when the Enterprise went sentient it just...turned into a thing and flew away.
