Death Penalty – Was for it, but advances in forensic science and DNA have shown that innocent people have died. Halt the practice until a full proof way can be found to prove guilt. With all the pending appeals these guys are allowed, it’s probably cheaper to keep them in prison anyway.

Equal Opportunity – What a joke. The only ones in this country not granted equal opportunity are white males.

Gun control – Don’t try to break into my home, don’t try to harm my family and you won’t have to worry about it.

Health care – Free across the board. And lock up the fat cat CEO’s from the pharmaceutical companies.

Iraq – Get out. If they can’t take care of themselves by now, they never will. Fuck ‘em .

Israel – Fuck’em. These fuckers are 75% of the problem in the Mideast. Let them have Texas. After the last 6 years, no one gives a shit about Texas any more anyway.

Stem Cell Research - For fucks sake, yes. It is the future of medical advancement. Bush actually vetoed a bill that Clinton put forth which made it illegal for Federal money to be used for research where stem cells are derived from the destruction of an embryo. He then was the first President to supply funding to Embryonic Stem Cell research and gave them $100 million. :roll: If you're going to fund it, then fund it properly. Regulations should be strict and controlled where embryonic and therapeutic cloning are involved but the research and potential benefits are way too important to pass up.


Religion - Keep it out of politics and off my door step. Trust me, I'll call you.


Creationism/Evolution/Intelligent Design - Teach it all at school within a little something called, oh, I don't know.. CONTEXT.

I don't agree. While I believe it's in the best interest of the country to have affordable health care and preventative measures for diseases, I don't think the answer is "free" health care or meddling with the pharmaceutical companies.

I'm self employed and uninsured. I haven't been able to find a gyn and have yearly exams for 8 years now because none of them locally are accepting new patients who aren't covered by insurance. I'm taking the chance because I'm not willing to pay over $300 a month just to have some quack write an order for routine tests once a year. (and then paying for the tests anyway because I haven't reached a deductable) I'm perfectly willing and able to pay for the tests and exams.

As for the pharmaceuticals... in order for someone to risk investment in research (because it IS expensive) there needs to be an incentive.... that incentive is a healthy profit. Because for every drug that is approved and makes $$$, there are a lot that arent. Can you imagine what a nightmare it would be if the US Government were soley responsible for R&D, manufacture, distribution, etc of medications?

The reason US drug companies are the worlds leaders in new lifesaving drugs is because of the investors. Take away that incentive to invest and there may never be a cure for AIDS, Cancer or even the common cold.

Abortion reminds me of a story:

I can’t help but wonder how many of those crushed or salted to death in the womb could have been the person to cure cancer, or AIDS, or do some other great thing that would be a benefit to us all.

How many people live in a country where they know everyday on their way to work there could be an explosion on their bus or train, at the coffee shop they stop by, where they work, at the market where they buy groceries or a pair of socks? The U.S. can be counted in that number now. I’ve already expressed my feelings about Saddam. Taking on the country was a bad idea, but taking down Saddam was the right thing to do. Them that will war will find someone to war with.

However, some policies regarding big business need to be changed. Example, Wal-Mart dictating to its suppliers how much they will produce and sell an item for to the point it causes the manufacturer to go bankrupt. Good business is when it is good for all parties, not just for one.

Canada – Won’t buy another thing from Canada. Cretins made me pay in advance for an item they never delivered. Finally, after six months, they refunded my money but at a loss to me due to the exchange rate. Other than that, I don’t consider them an enemy but don’t consider them a friend either.

Cheney – Don’t care. He should have told Bush he wasn’t interested in going through the hell of being the VP of this United States. God knows he didn’t need the money and there are better things in life to do at his age than put up with that crappy job.

Crime – 3 strikes, you’re out. No. Depends on the crime. Child predators, rapists, murderers (not self-defense) – 1 strike. White collar crime and other crimes of desperation and stupidity – 2 strikes. Plus, if a person stays clean, and proves themselves to be rehabilitated over a certain period of years, then the person’s record should be wiped clean. There are many people who did a stupid thing when they were younger and pay for it the rest of their lives. Nowadays, a relatively inexpensive background check will tell all kinds of things about a person except their side of the story.

When a person is proven beyond any doubt at all – eye witnesses, video evidence, forensic evidence, confessions, etc. – they march them down the hall to an empty concrete room with a drain in the middle of the floor. One bullet to the back of the head, clean up the mess, and be done with it. Prisoners who are rightfully in prison cost taxpayers a fortune in lawsuits they file because they don’t like their mattress, shoes, food and what have you. Prison is supposed to be punishment. I don’t sympathize with them that they have to wear ugly shoes and sleep on an uncomfortable bed.

I know of three instances that happened in my hometown where I agree to the death penalty.

Two young men offered a ride to a mentally challenged girl they worked with at a local grocery story. Because she knew them from work, she trusted them. They took her out into a secluded area and used her as target practice. They had purchased new guns and bows and wanted to kill people. They had a list of victims, she was their test run. When they were caught trying to sneak over the Mexican border they went on TV and bragged about how they killed this young girl. They laughed. Both of them got the death penalty. Now one of them claims he has a low IQ too and shouldn’t be put to death. Sorry. IQ isn’t the get to kill people for free card. He knew what he was doing was wrong.

Another young man killed his father, sister, his wife and two of her children from a previous marriage. I knew this person personally. He lived two houses down from one of my sisters, went to school with my daughter, my daughter used to baby sit the sister he killed, and his father towed my car and repaired it a few times at his auto repair shop. I would never have believed he could do such a thing. The other stuff that came out during the trial was horrendous. He’d kept the sister he killed as a sex slave for years. She’d had a couple of babies by him that he took off with and the babies were never seen again. I would not want him set free, ever again. As long as he lives, there is a possibility he can be set free. Now he is trying to have his death penalty reversed and even trying to get out of prison.

A young woman – 16 – a student at the school I graduated from, lived just a couple of miles from me – was on the phone to 911 operators crying for help while men broke into her family’s apartment and kidnapped her at gun point. Her two brothers had cheated a drug dealer and he had originally taken the sister to make the brothers cooperate. When they didn’t, he got brutal on the sister. She was taken to Oklahoma, raped, tortured, buried alive. The two brothers didn’t tell their mother or the police anything until after her body was recovered.

Agreed, but, there are reasons for "no bid" contracts. How many companies are there that have the logistics capabilities Haliburton does? How many nation building countries are there? Why should a past CEO of Haliburton be held responsible for faulty practices of that company now?

Also some truth to that. But, why is the guy that owns the business making a million a year while the kid that is doing the work of the business making $5.15 an hour? While the guy who owns the business is in business to make money, the kid is working to make money too. The way things are going, the wealth will be in the hands of a small minority of the population. While some people think that the one that dies with the most toys is the winner, when the majority of people don't have money production stops because people can't afford to buy what is being sold. When production stops, people starve.

Beyond that, If the first ass stretching you got from being in jail wasn't a deterrent, then your a fucking idiot. 3 strikes, then we give you a gun and ship you to war zone after we pull the real military out. Creationism/Evolution/Intelligent Design - You want it taught in a classroom, prove it using science. Use the scientific Method to prove that they can happen.

They're Non-Overlapping Magisteria anyway, You can have your beliefs yet still be a scientist and can be a scientist and still be religious. Science tries to explain the Physical while Religion tries to explain the metaphysical.

Immigration - Station a few battalions of Snipers and some good ole boys along the border. Everytime someone runs, jumps or swims across, take the shot, No warning, and a bonus if you happen to score a headshot. If one happens to get across, light him up like a dried out christmas tree. Then, cover the body with gas, light it and catapult it back to Mexico.

After a few days, the burning bodies and dead mexicans will give warning to those who try, and will also make it impossible to cross without getting sick.

Crime – Unrepentant recurring crooks need to be slapped into prison and left there. If found beyond a doubt guilty of a crime, proven by infallible data and technology, execute them.

Equal Opportunity – No one should be admitted or hired because of a quota on a racial/ethnic/sex criteria.

Gun control – Why do we need these things? Some control is needed, but too much will result in only the crooks having them. The NRA is too powerful, IMO. Slap them down.

Health care – There are some dodgy insurance companies. Insurance should be available, but not at the cost of an arm and a leg.

Iraq – Either annex them as a state (haha :roll or get out. It's not our problem, and we only piss them off by making it our problem.

Israel – You're on your own, bitch.

Middle East – Shut up, quit fighting. Don't involve us if you keep it up, though.

Minimum Wage – Cost of living goes up, minimum wage goes up. If you choose to flip burgers instead of getting a meaningful job, go into management. Your company should have a wage increase schedule anyway.

North Korea – No nuke for you, or you piss off Japan and China. And if they ally, well, Hell must have frozen over.

Social Security – I'm paying into it. There better be something for me.

Welfare/Social Services – Needed to get people back on their feet. Screw the ones that live off of it but don't do anything else. Might be better to use micro-lending in some cases.

Stem Cell Research - Fund it.

Religion - Stay the hell out of politics.

Christianity - Hypocrites.

Judaism - 'God's chosen'? Not if you keep pissing off the Middle East...

Islam - No Jihad for you.

Creationism/Evolution/Intelligent Design - Evolution taught in science. Creationism/ID taught in theology. And they're theories, not fact.

Gay marriage - Gee, we heteros have done such a great job with marriage. To deny another orientation marriage is bigoted and hypocritical. Oh, and it won't 'threaten' marriage, either.
