Biden: ‘Hate Will Not Prevail, and White Supremacy Will Not Have the Last Word’

President Biden called on Americans to reject the so-called replacement theory in the wake of the mass shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo, N.Y., that claimed the lives of 10 people and injured three more. “In America, evil will not win. I promise you. Hate will not prevail, and white supremacy will not have the last word, but evil did come to Buffalo, and it's come to all too many places, manifest in gunmen who massacred innocent people in the name of hateful and perverse ideology, rooted in fear and racism,” Biden said.

“It’s taken so much. Ten lives cut short in a grocery store. Three other wounded by a hate-filled individual, who had driven 200 miles from Binghamton, at range, to carry out a murderous, racist rampage that he would live stream, live stream to the world,” Biden said, adding that what happened in Buffalo is “domestic terrorism,” the president said.

“That's the word - ‘replaced’ by the other, by people who don't look like them, and who are therefore, in the perverse ideology, that they possess and being fed, lesser beings. I and all of you reject the lie. I call on all Americans to reject the lie, and I condemn those who spread the lie for power, political gain, and for profit. That's what it is,” Biden said.

“Life, liberty, our universal goods, gifts of God. We didn't get it from the government. We got it because we exist. We are called upon to defend them. The venom of the haters and their weapons of war, the violence in the words and deeds that stalk our streets, our stories, our schools. This venom, this violence, cannot be the story of our time. We cannot allow that to happen,” he said.

Buffalo supermarket shooting: What do we know so far?

On Saturday afternoon, a white gunman in military gear attacked shoppers and workers at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, killing 10 people and wounding three others. Most of the victims were Black. Officials said they are investigating the shooting as a racially motivated hate crime. A white 18-year-old wearing body armor and livestreaming with a helmet camera opened fire at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday outside Tops Friendly Market. It's a supermarket in a predominantly Black neighborhood of Buffalo. The gunman livestreamed the shooting to a small audience on Twitch for several minutes before the platform cut off his feed. According to police, the gunman began shooting in the parking lot then moved inside the store. Security guard Aaron Salter fired multiple shots but none penetrated the gunman’s armor. The gunman killed Salter, who was Black, and then stalked through the aisles, shooting shoppers.

Black lives matter insofar as providing top quality penises of substantial length and girth in my pornography.

But seriously (not that the above isn't valid):
  • Do White lives matter to Black people?
  • Do Asian lives matter to White people?
Sounds fairly daft when you switch it around. Most people have real life shit to worry about than whether a group of people who share a skin tone's lives matter. Does my life matter? Does my skin color factor into how much my life matters?

The truth is my favorite little watermelon-munching retard, that no lives matter. Relatively soon (relative to when black holes evaporate), this ball we call home will be engulfed in the death throes of our star; any life remaining on Earth will be indiscriminately wiped out and The Universe will observe the final crescendo of the Solar System with indifferent silence.

Fucking make the best of it with the cards you're dealt while you're here. Or not (because - that's right - none of it really matters big picture). Translation: stop fucking whining.

Personally, I was hoping Wilson was in the store shopping when that went down. Would have taken care of good business if that rubber met that road.

Was disappointed to discover he wasn't. Probably his EBT bennies hadn't come in yet.

Buffalo shooting suspect indicted on charges related to massacre at Tops supermarket

Payton Gendron, the 18-year-old charged in connection with the killing of 10 people at a supermarket here less than a week ago, has been indicted by a grand jury and remains in custody after a brief court appearance Thursday. Authorities say Gendron, an alleged white supremacist, targeted the Tops supermarket in a largely Black neighborhood because of the hatred he harbored for minorities, fueled by an obsession with false theories about replacing white people that proliferate on the Internet. He has pleaded not guilty. Police say Gendron traveled three hours from his home in Conklin, N.Y., to target Black people with his Bushmaster XM-15 rifle. He is believed to have posted a screed online that revealed a paranoid obsession with a racist conspiracy theory claiming white Americans are intentionally being replaced by non-white immigrants.

911 dispatcher accused of hanging up on Buffalo shooting call put on leave

A 911 dispatcher has been placed on leave and may lose her job after allegedly hanging up on a supermarket employee hiding during a shooting rampage in Buffalo, New York a week ago. “Termination will be sought” for the dispatcher at a disciplinary hearing later this month, said Peter Anderson, spokesperson for the executive of Erie County, in an email to The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The store employee alleges the dispatcher shouted at her, asked why she was whispering, then hung up. The employee said she had to call her boyfriend and tell him to dial 911 and report the shooting. Anderson said it’s unclear who hung up on whom. A message was left with the union that represents Buffalo’s 911 dispatchers.

Buffalo shooting shows the urgent need to dismantle racism, love our neighbors

Buffalo is known as the City of Good Neighbors, nice people, nice place to live. Indeed, here in the other Erie County, we know that’s true because we are all connected in one way or another to our good neighbors 90 miles up the lakeshore. And, when news of a racially motivated massacre at a Tops market in a Black neighborhood reached our collective newsfeeds this past week, a wave of shock and sadness rippled across our community.

Sadly, this shooting was the latest in a growing number of hate crimes against Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) mainly Black in America. The slaughter was startling and part of a growing trend. The New York Times repoted this week that in 2020, an FBI report showed the highest spike in hate crimes in a dozen years. Further, hate crimes against Black Americans increased nearly 46% from 2019 to 2020. Take a moment to take that in it’s a dramatic increase in just one year and those are only the hate crimes reported to law enforcement.
