Why do English people say "mooney" instead of "money"?

MOONY

You do. You fucking do. Like adverts where a teenage's using a phone and the mother says "that phone is costing me MOONEY! Go and buy some WASHING POWDER!" then the teen says "huh, washing powder AND conditioner in one!" and the mother acts shocked that this exists even though it's existed for like thirty years and anyway you say "mooney."

And also you say "moom" instead of "mum."

WE DO NOT.

Is it this one?

(Indians are just like that, it's like a DOCUMENTARY!

Like Star Trek, this can be traced back to Lucille Ball -- in her 3rd TV show The Lucy Show, she called Gale Gordon's character "Mr. Mooney", which started a worldwide trend.

Fun fact: As a result of The Lucy Show, every baby born in 1969 in China, Korea and Coober Pedy was named MOONEY.
