Why do people take baths everyday instead of just Saturdays

Isn't that simply a waste of good water? I mean, why take baths everyday? You're only going to get dirty all over again. When I was young (back in the 1800's) we only took baths during the rainy season. :huh:

I think this would be a fairly massive cultural change, and i can see how people might very well be resistent to it. Not saying it's IMPOSSIBLE, but you may be facing an uphill battle
