Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

(By the way, did you know that 8 US states have almost exactly the same NO PROMO HOMO laws that Russia have introduced? Not sure there are as many protests about that one...)
 
I haven't watched any of the Olympics yet. HOW UNPATRIOTIC OF ME :rwmad:

This morning I saw a truck go by on the highway that had American flags flying from it, I wonder if they also pump their fists and shout USA USA while watching the Olympics on TV.
 
I love The Olympics. I watched the opening ceremony and it made me very happy.

For fear of coming across like a canned fucking ham..

The Olympics, at least for me anyway, is more about who we could be than who we are.

VILLAGE PUTINS!

I loved the Olympics when I was a lad, but now that they are staged every 2 years instead of 4, they're getting kind of annoying in how much more they disrupt my TV viewing, lol.

Also, it's so hard to remove any political elements from the proceedings, since Moscow/1980. Hell, since Munich/1972, which confused the hell out of this 8 year old. And the political element this year affects me personally, plus Russia is really screwing up as a host in general, and I don't feel the urge to watch much. I'll get excited for the (closeted) gayboy figure skater with the ponytail, that's about it.

I watched an English girl skiing today. She fell the first time, but then did better the second time and the commentators were all "OH MY GOD SHE'S WON A MEDAL I CAN TASTE IT IN THE AIR!" She came seventh.
