Wordforge observatory

Lansman upped the rep to 50 a day recently. Now Sokar and his puppet show can drive away the rest of the decent posters. I do see a big rep war happening over that decision. Sokar is undoubtidy counting up his puppets, days, and multiplying by 50 then dividing that into the number of pips to find out how soon he can knock someone into the red. Posting is way off from its heyday, that place is dying a slow death.

wordforge seems to be this right wing conspiracy forum. The few normal posters there are badgered and bullied and I read but never post.

I'm for it, as long as it get used in appropriate amounts in areas where it'll be effective against malaria.

I don't think that Rachel Carson = STUPID ENVIRONAZI GENOCIDAL HITLER LIAR SCUM I SPRAY DDT ON MY FOOD JUST TO BE SAFE* IMPEACH OBAMA RON PAUL 2008, though.

The OP had an interesting point there, but it pretty much immediately got buried in posts about how crazy leftist environmentalists decided to falsify evidence showing a link between DDT and health problems in humans because they openly hate black people and want them all to die.

Notice how the only counterarguments the people arguing for the use of DDT address are the ones by Nick Walczak (stupid, immature former tech admin), Liet (crazy, wannabe troll), and Oerdin (troll).

I guess it helps them pretend that Wordforge is still about debating, rather than constant pontification about sub-standard conservative/libertarian political theories, while still not deviating from the core mission.

Which one's Walczak?

And what was that core mission again...? (I'm not privy to the other levels that place operates on --or that it even HAS more than one level. WF always struck me as a cozy little ranch.)

Nick = The Defender.

I could be wrong about this, but my impression was always that the board was started with the intention of providing a framework for no-holds-barred political debate without the stifling rules and moderation that TrekBBS's political forum had.

I guess you could technically call what's taking place in that thread "debate," but I personally wouldn't venture that far.

Actually, or at least according to the story I got, Wordforge was started mainly as an "arts" board, for writers and artists and whatnot. I believe mainly for writers. When the Great TrekBBS Exodus happened (IOW, when Trek's management blew up the Neutral Zone as it then existed) the refugees were offered a forum on the then-new Wordforge by Cass, known on Trek at the time as Martok's Sweetheart. That became the Red Room, and the rest is history.

Yeah, but it's pretty accurate to say that people didn't start flocking there because they wanted the advice of a histrionic Austrian layabout on their Worf/Worf slashfics, right?
