Would you like to see Bob Barr represented in the Presidential Debates?

Conchaga

Let's fuck some shit up
Bob Barr, the nominee for the Libertarian Party, will not be allowed to attend the upcoming Presidential Debates that are scheduled for the next month. Even though he's the nominee for the third largest party in the US, the duoploly won't let him have a voice.

Here's his youtube statement to that fact.

Do you agree with the poll he mentions and think Libertarians should be included in the Debate?

Here he goes again. I don't know how this man walks. As I'm sure his balls require a forklift to transport them.

I'll admit, I've never seen a presidential candidate be as honest and talk as plainly as Barr does. I would love to see him trounce McBama in a public forum. He would shed light on many issues the Republicrats don't want American people to think about... Namely the right to something better.

Here's an example of Barr being honest and owning up to making bad decisions then deflecting the blame back to where it belongs: the shitty Republicrat system.

He then follows-up with a strengthening of his position.

I came.

He's also charismatic. Something I admire in a leader. The ability to make fun of himself.

Watch as he completely calls out and owns McCain.

I find libertarianism appealing to me more now than when I was younger. Sadly, I don't think Barr or Ron Paul are going to be the ones to bring about the revolution they promise --although they're doing a pretty decent job laying the foundations (with a lot of unintentional help from the powers-that-be's consistent track record of fuckups.)

What the party needs is a Young Turk: someone who embodies all the best firebrand ideals of these guys while leaving behind the baggage, not the least of which is their age, which --although they're still pretty sharp-- isn't exactly going to improve in the next four or eight years.

I'm fine with many Libertarian principles. But Bob Barr is a Con in Libertarian clothing.

He's responsible for the Defense of Marriage Act, and most of our bungling Anti-Drug policies. He had to publically apologize to the Lib party for DOMA, and now hides behind States' Rights as the reason he gets to keep the gays in their place. He also opposed medical marijuana, another Libertarian mainstay which he has conveniently reversed his position on. He had a hard-on for impeaching Bill Clinton at all costs, which nearly caused a Constitutional crisis, something that doesn't jibe with the things he proposes to advocate.

But, if he passes whatever the requirements are for joining the debate, he should be included. But I don't know what those requirements are and how they are enforced, or even who enforces them for that matter.

He's a great advocate of privacy rights, which is good. But I don't like what comes with that in the whole package.

And I don't know how you get "charismatic" from that video. How is someone charismatic while reading a speech that he didn't write off of index cards? I've always found him to be an obstinant SOB, and this party switch is borne out of his need to have a microphone at any cost.

BTW I loved that bit in McCain's speech about reaching across to Democrats and Independents to be in his administration. What he meant is, he'll give Democrat-turned-Independent Joe Lieberman a job, which will change the balance of power in the Senate if the Dems don't take it.

you say he is a Con, and i know you mean conservative there
but i think his whole new thing may be 'a con'
thats why i dont trust em, people dont change that much in their 50s
still though, at least he switched sides on the drug war...
