ABC has locked and loaded the male lead for its "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" pilot.

Martin Henderson, currently co-starring in "Smokin' Aces," will step into the Brad Pitt role in the Alphabet's adaptation of the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ABC has also signed former "Wonderfalls" star Lee Pace for its drama "Pushing Daisies" and added to the casts of "Judy's Got a Gun," "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Women's Murder Club."

The New Zealand-born Henderson will star opposite Jordana Brewster in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." The pilot picks up a few months after the events of the movie, with the couple trying to restart their lives in a new home. Their respective covert-assassin businesses keep getting in the way, however.

Henderson's movie credits include "The Ring," "Flyboys," "Little Fish" and "Torque." This is his first American TV project.
