XM vs. Sirius: opinions

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
I've been thinking about switching to satellite radio, because the local radio stations (with the exception of the local morning guys Preston & Steve) SUCK BALLS. It's either shitty rap or classic rock.

Anyway, I don't really have a long commute or anything, so I've resisted S.R. We're planning on getting pregnant this spring, so our vacations will most likely be long weekends with considerable driving. I'll go bonkers if I have to listen to terrestrial radio.

So, which is better? Are the mostly the same? I don't care about Stern, just which gives me more bang for the buck.

thanks.

Last year we went to Clearwater for Spring Training, and the Chrysler 300 we rented (SWEET RIDE!) had limited Sirius sattelite. The thing that impressed me the most was that we travelled from Clearwater to Tampa to St. Pete with nary a signal loss.

Sirius also had a great sports channel, and I got to hear lengthy congressional testimony about the steriod issue. I'm definitely leaning towards Sirius, I've got to check the prices for monthly service and hardware.

I'd only be using it in the car, so whatever reciever I can get for the car will be ok. The only bummer is that I have the radio controls on the steering wheel, and I don't think they can integrate satellite radio. But then again, if I have Sirius or XM, I won't have to flip around as much.

I don't know, I do alot of flipping with my sirius-I'm beginning to think it may be a hazard, but I love it! I can not vouch then for XM obviously-
and I don't even have it mounted yet-mine glows bright blue, so at night time I leave it covered, I guess I'm little help.
One of my fave channels have become the comedy stations-especially after a long day at work.
Hope it turns out well for you BDM, and will this be your first-pregnancy?

I have XM in my WRX, but I've never had Sirius. I'm 100% satisfied with XM, especialy the Cinemagic and KISS FM channels. I'm sure if I had access to Sirius, I'd love it too, as they are available in nearly all new Dodge/Chrysler vehicles.

Thanks for the input, it all helps, believe me!

This will be our second, as we have a truly beautiful son who will be 2 in June. To say he is the light of my life would be an understatement. Darthsikle was right, I wish I had kids sooner!
