I also doubt the U.S. banned him. That would violate first ammendment rights. What is far more likely is that the liberal Hollywood producers refused to produce the movie in the US because of the scene. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
That being said, I found the scene humorous both for the dialogue and the cheezy asian-film style acting.
