I flew through book one, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in six days, and just finished the sequel, The Girl Who Played With Fire in three days. Exceptional mystery/thriller books, with one of the very best female characters, Lisbeth Salander, I've every read.
I cannot recommend these books highly enough, and I hope someone here has read them! Both should be readily available at your local library. The third and final book in the trilogy will be out in the U.S. in May of 2010.
The only bummer is that Stieg Larsson died in 2004, just before the first book was published. I'm sure I would have read his books for years and years.
