The First Men On the Moon is great!
In the Days of the Comet reminds me of Hawthorne
The Island of Dr. Moreau was an enjoyable read and goes well with the new movie.
War of the Worlds is overrated.
The Invisible Man is a little overrated as well.

It has been a very long time since I read War of the Worlds, and I don't think I've read any of his other work. I should look into getting the ones you suggest!

I haven't read that yet. I am going to read Goodbye, Mr. Chips and possibly also Black Like Me, then I will be reading the Time Machine. After that (and one or two more books,) I will be reading the last Wells book on my shelf, Food of the Gods. I remember watching The Time Machine when I was little, I hope I like the book. I'm really looking forward to Food of the Gods, so I'm saving it for last to motivate me. Will bump this thread with my brief review of the Time Machine some time after I finish.

I should also add that the overrated books are not bad at all, in fact they are very interesting. Just overrated.
