Former Georgia coach Vince Dooley has been released from a hospital after being treated for COVID-19. Georgia announced Wednesday that Dooley, 90, was released from an Athens-area hospital on Monday following a "mild case" of COVID-19. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. Dooley said in a statement he plans to attend No. 1 Georgia's homecoming game against Vanderbilt on Saturday and participate in a planned book signing. Dooley was 201-77-10 in 25 years as coach of the Bulldogs and also served as athletic director until 2004.

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic entered the NBA's health and safety protocols Tuesday and is out for Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks.
Jokic, the two-time reigning MVP, is averaging 20.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists in 13 games this season. He's the 10th NBA player to enter the protocols this season. Players are not required to undergo regular testing this season, but there are certain situations where they must be checked for COVID-19. Examples of when players must be tested include when they are exhibiting any symptoms, or when someone in their household tests positive for COVID-19. Entering the protocols does not necessarily mean that someone is positive for the virus.
Rhode Island vs. Milwaukee canceled because of COVID-19 outbreak
Rhode Island's game against Milwaukee scheduled for Thursday has been canceled because of a COVID-19 outbreak within the Rams' program, the school announced Monday. The game will not be rescheduled this season. It's believed to be the first Division I men's college basketball game canceled or postponed because of COVID-19 in the 2022-23 season.
