Former Cowboys Pro Bowler Marion Barber arrested on criminal mischief charges
Marion Barber starred for the Dallas Cowboys for six seasons after they made the Minnesota product a fourth-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.
In fact, Barber recorded 1,000-plus yards three consecutive seasons and earned a Pro Bowl appearance in 2007.
It appears that Barber’s life has taken a turn since he exited the NFL as a member of the Chicago Bears back in 2011.
According to
TMZ Sports, the 36-year-old was arrested in Texas on Wednesday and charged with criminal mischief, stemming from an incident that occurred in July 2018:
“So far, the specific allegations against the 36-year-old are unclear — all we know is that he was arrested by the Prosper Police Dept. and transported to a Denton County jail. Barber was booked on at least one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief — and he’s still in custody as of this post.”
The
Dallas Morning News' Tom Steele adds that he was charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief. It’s not yet known what transpired leading up to Barber’s arrest. However, he has a history with law enforcement.
Back in 2014, Barber was arrested in Texas and
held for mental detention and observation.
