Hunter accidently shoots woman he thought was a deer

An upstate woman out walking her dogs was fatally shot by a hunter — who mistook her for a deer while illegally hunting after sunset, police said.

Rosemary Billquist, 43, had just taken her labs, Sugar and Stella, out Wednesday night when she was hit by a single gunshot from a high-powered pistol.

She was rushed to a hospital in Erie, Pa., where she died, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

There may be no foul play, but an earlier article I read stood out to me and I thought perhaps this wasn't a mistake at all.
