Jaguars agree to deal with WR Marvin Jones Jr., trade for DT Malcom Brown, sources say
Brown, who signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Saints in 2019, was a likely salary-cap casualty this year if New Orleans had been unable to trade him since they began the offseason nearly $100 million over the cap. With the Lions, Jones had 289 catches for 4,296 yards and 36 touchdowns. He had his only 1,000-yard season in 2017, with 1,101 yards and an NFL-leading 18 yards per reception.

San Francisco 49ers, Trent Williams agree to $138.06 million deal that makes him highest-paid OL in NFL history

Trent Williams and the San Francisco 49ers have reached a six-year, $138.06 million deal that will make him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history, his agency announced Wednesday morning. The deal has $55.1 million in guaranteed money, Williams' agency Elite Loyalty Sports tweeted. The contract also includes a $30.1 million signing bonus, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini. Upon Williams joining the Niners, the team agreed to add a clause in his contract that meant it could not tag him this offseason. Williams went on to stabilize the left tackle position in place of the retired Joe Staley, starting 14 games and returning to his previous Pro Bowl form in the process.

NFL announces TV deals with ESPN/ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, Amazon

The NFL announced a new set of national television deals Thursday, keeping games on ESPN/ABC, Fox, CBS, NBC, Amazon and NFL Network through the 2033 season. The agreement keeps Sunday afternoon games on CBS and Fox, Sunday night games on NBC and Monday night games on ESPN, with some games also airing on ABC. For the first time, Amazon will be the exclusive home for Thursday night games, which will also be on over-the-air channels in the competing teams' home markets. NFL Network will also air select games. ABC picks up two Super Bowls during the deal, the first in 2026 with the other networks airing three each.

WR Breshad Perriman joins Detroit Lions, team father Brett starred for

The Detroit Lions are signing the son of one of their all-time great receivers, agreeing to terms with Breshad Perriman on a one-year, $3 million deal, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 27-year-old Perriman, the son of former Lions wide receiver Brett Perriman, was actually born during his dad's stint with Detroit. Now Breshad Perriman will wear the jersey his farther once wore as well. When the older Perriman was in Detroit, he appeared in 94 games, starting 91 of them, with 428 catches for 5,244 yards and 25 touchdowns. He ranks fourth in team history in catches and yards. Known as one of the fastest players in the league, Breshad Perriman was a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2015, but he sat out his entire rookie year due to a severe knee injury. In five seasons, he has only 125 receptions.

Source: CB Troy Hill signing 4-year, $24 million deal with Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are signing former Rams cornerback Troy Hill to a four-year, $24 million deal, a league source said. Hill, who is from Youngstown, Ohio, had a breakout season for the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, starting all 16 games for the first time in his six-year career. He had three interceptions and three defensive touchdowns for the NFL's top-ranked defense. In five seasons in L.A., Hill had seven interceptions, 29 passes defended, a sack, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

Source: Chicago Bears releasing top CB Kyle Fuller; Allen Robinson signs franchise tender

The Bears are releasing veteran cornerback Kyle Fuller in a cost-cutting move that frees up $14 million worth of salary cap space, a league source confirmed to ESPN. Wide receiver Allen Robinson will remain in Chicago after signing his franchise tender Thursday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. He is set to make $18 million for the 2021 season. Fuller, 29, was entering the final year of his contract and set to count $20 million against the cap. The Bears will have to eat $6 million in dead money. Drafted by the Bears with the 14th overall pick of the 2014 NFL draft, Fuller is a two-time Pro Bowl selection who set a career high with seven interceptions in 2018. Robinson, 27, caught a career-high 102 passes in 2020, the final season of a three-year, $42 million ($25.2 million guaranteed) deal he signed with the Bears as a free agent in March 2018. He also had 1,250 yards receiving and six touchdowns.

Cincinnati Bengals sign OT Riley Reiff, release 8-time Pro Bowl DT Geno Atkins

The Cincinnati Bengals made a big signing for their offensive line Friday but also announced they were releasing one of their all-time greats on the defensive line. The Bengals signed offensive tackle Riley Reiff, but coach Zac Taylor later announced that defensive tackle Geno Atkins was being released. Backup quarterback Ryan Finley and starting right tackle Bobby Hart will also be released, Taylor said. Atkins, who turns 33 on March 28, has been with the Bengals since the team drafted him in 2010 and developed into an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time first-team All-Pro and was named to the NFL's All-Decade team for the 2010s. He has 75.5 sacks, which ranks second in franchise history. Atkins played in 161 games for the Bengals, making 134 starts. He was limited to eight games last season, which ended when he was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. He finished without a sack for the first time in his career. Reiff signed with Minnesota as a free agent in 2017, switching from right to left tackle in the process. He started 62 games including the postseason for the Vikings and allowed 12 sacks over four seasons.
