As my laptop's broken - the screen won't stay up - I've been forced to migrate to the desktop. Now, this isn't technically my computer, and I've been starving for good music.
A simple googling of "online radio" gave me www.pandora.com so I thought what the hell, why not.
It turns out that the random link I clicked is for the the "music genome project." You tell them a band/artist/style of music you like, and they play that selection along with bands/artists/styles that are similar to your selection based on the tones and beats used in the music.
You have to register after a few songs, but there's no verification necessary and it's really simple. The best part is that you can skip songs by giving them a thumbs down, and they'll never come back on your playlist again. A lot of online radios force you to listen straight through or they limit your number of skips.
Thought I'd share, because it's completely awesome
