Is this real life?
Yeah, I loved that and the Sinbad movies. Sad to hear he's gone but I really was surprised to find out he was still alive anyway.

I watched Clash of the Titans a million times when I was a kid too. I love the little mechanical owl.

He was one of the reasons I got into animated stop motion super 8 films.

Of course unlike him I was never actually any good at it.

Shame. He was an icon. The only Ray Harryhausen movie I ever saw in the theater was "Clash of the Titans", which had Burgess Meredith in it.

I hate it in the shit remake when they said "NAH, LET'S LEAVE THE COOL ROBOT OWL BEHIND."

All In With The Nuts
My screenwriter friend left a nice tribute on Facebook (he still does a witty take on the old "third-person" style of Facebook status posting):

"(Screenwriter's name) suddenly stops fighting, and so do you and the other Argonauts, and so do all of the skeletons, all of us becoming silent, until we bow, and stand together in the silence, and finally drop our swords. Rest in Peace, Ray Harryhausen."

"RIP the Ray Harryhausen. Back
in the early 80's Tom Baker made
contact with Ray via a friend.
Tom would stop over at Ray's place
in Kensington, and both would get
shitfaced on good brandy until
Ray's wife, Diana, banned Tom
after he weed in their fireplace."

Popbitch is still a reliable source, right?
