49ers players say the didn't know super bowl overtime rules
Sunday night's game was the second of 58 Super Bowls to be tied after regulation. It was the first played under new overtime rules that ensure both teams get a chance to possess the ball before the game ends -- unless the first drive in OT ends with a safety. This differs from the rules governing overtime in the regular season, where the game ends if the first team to possess the ball scores a touchdown.

'hurting' 49ers lament another lost super bowl opportunity
Sunday night's loss was painful not just for the fact that the Niners again had a double-digit lead they couldn't hang on to or that they had a pair of costly special teams miscues or that running back Christian McCaffrey fumbled away a promising opening drive. The Niners have advanced to at least the NFC Championship Game in four of the past five seasons.

Mahomes: A Chiefs Super Bowl three-peat would be 'legendary'

Hours after the Kansas City Chiefs became the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back Super Bowls, they started aiming to become the first to win three straight championships. The Chiefs are the fourth franchise to win three Super Bowls in a five-year period, so they've already etched a prominent place in NFL history. The Chiefs have mostly avoided referring to themselves as a dynasty. But Reid, who just finished his 25th season as an NFL coach and is a student of the league's history, didn't argue with the suggestion when it was raised.

"It is history," he said. "We don't determine if it's a dynasty ... but I would tell you that it is as fine a group as I've been around, and I've been around [for 25 seasons and], been very fortunate. We've been around some great organizations, good teams, and this group here and organization are tremendous. "If somebody said dynasty and tagged us on to it, I'd be very proud of that."

tuned in: instant reaction from cbs's coverage of super bowl lviii
After seven years on the job at CBS, Romo finally got the nail-biter Super Bowl that announcers dream about. The Chiefs’ 25-22 win over the 49ers will go down in the history books. It was a sloppy game, full of fumbles and penalties. And I didn’t follow Romo’s dissertation on overtime rules before the winning play. But for the most part the 43-year-old analyst delivered the goods.

what;s next for 49ers after losing super bowl lviii?
The 49ers made it further than their 2022 campaign, as they fell in the NFC Championship Game to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl for the first time since 1994 did not come to fruition, leaving an offseason full of questions.

Usher and girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea marry over Super Bowl weekend

Usher is a married man. The singer had a big day on Super Bowl Sunday. In addition to performing the halftime show, he also tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Jenn Goicoechea. Clark County records obtained by NBC News show the pair married on Sunday. It’s not immediately clear if they did so before or after the halftime show. Goicoechea and the “Yeah!” singer — whose full name is Usher Raymond IV — obtained a marrige license in the county on Thursday, three days before the big game. The news set off a firestorm of rumors and media coverage ahead of Usher's halftime show.

Goicoechea and Usher have been linked for years, apparently confirming their relationship when they were photographed sharing a kiss at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2019. They share two children: a daughter Sovereign Bo, 3, and a son Sire Castrello, 2. Usher is also to sons Usher “Cinco” V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15, with ex-wife Tameka Foster. Usher’s spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.
