I think it depended on the life situation you were in and your take on the whole pandemic. Our county took it more serious than others so *for me* chill also meant that I didn't have to rage against all those covidiots when I had to leave the house - which I rarely did. Other counties were basically just ignoring that there was a pandemic going on as far as I experienced, so unless they or a loved one got sick, it was pretty chill for them, too, I guess
I'm an introvert so as long as I have some stuff to do to pass the time, I am fine with quarantine. And really - easy to sit out the pandemic if you're not in danger of losing your house or your job and getting your reg income. Others I talked to had way more to worry about, and there are a lot of small businesses that had to give up and close.
