I need directions!

If I want to avoid the I-10 through downtown L.A., and I need to pick up the 60E, can I just go down Wilshire Boulevard? Will it take longer? The 10E out of Beverly Hills is a parking lot anytime between 5-7 pm. It takes me 40 minutes to go 14 miles. SHEESH!
