"...and the sky's the limit!"

THE LAST LINE IN CHEERS WAS "FUCK YOU, WOODY!"

"...WANK"?

Oh, and for the record, I just wish someone would really end a series--no sappy goodbyes, nothing that leaves things open for a reunion--I mean everyone goes down in a hail of gunfire, like they did at the end of "Hamlet" or "The Golden Girls".

To be fair, "Angel" ended pretty well. But the all-time best series finale was "Dinosaurs". :techman:

"Sam Beckett never returned home"

Devastating.

"Boston Legal" ended with Denny Crane and Alan Shore getting married, after having sued for the right to do it under Massachusetts' gay marriage law even though they are heteros.

Doesn't get much more original than that. ;)

I didn't get to see the Boston Legal finale because it was preempted by a fucking football game :rwmad:

BSG will have a real ending, I hope it has cool last words.

And ABC.com has taken BL off its list of shows you can watch for free online. :rwmad:

They're probably coming out with a boxed DVD set soon, and don't want the free stuff online to compete with it. Not that I could watch it online anyway, grr.

Despite everything RDM says, BSG will probably end with a rhetorical question that will never be answered.

After blacking out, Adama wakes to find Lee, Saul, Kara and the rest all dead, apparently butchered by an overpowering force. The door stands before him, locked from the inside by his own hand not two hours ago.

He looks directly into the camera lens.

"Frak... am I the final Cylon?"

He breaks down in tears as the camera slowly pulls back. Fade to black.

Um...why would he murder a fellow final five cylon and best friend(Saul)?

A question people will be asking for years.

Blakes 7 ended with everyone but Avon shot, and him just about to be

Soap ended its 4th season with some big cliffhangers: Jessica was being shot by a firing squad in South America, and Burt and Danny were about to be beaten to death by mobsters with blunt weapons. Unfortunately, the show wasn't renewed for a 5th season, so we never found out what happened.

EXCEPT in a later episode of Benson (a spinoff of Soap), in which Jessica came back in Benson's dream as a ghost, for supposedly she had been killed in SA after all.

INTERESTING!

Forever Knight ends with everybody dead. During the final season they kill off Schanke, Cohen, Janette, Vachon, Urs, and Screed. In the last episode Tracy dies and Nick kills Nat. The show closes on LaCroix sorrowfully raising a stake to grant Nick's assisted suicide request.

Dallas ended with J.R. shooting himself in the head as Satan (Joel Grey) looked on.

Then they went and ruined that ending by having him live on in 2 reunion TV-movies years later.

Satan, as in the devil?

The A team ended with Hannible telling Stockwell they wouldnt do missions for him any more, then as the team walked back to the van, face asked him what they would do now and Hannible said "beat up crooked polititions, union bosses, gangsters, criminals, and bad guys in the park, do what we've always done, help people"

Then they drive off in the van.

For the duration of the episode Murdock has a t shirt that says "fini" on it.

Years later another "new" episode turned up which must have been the one previous to that, when they got the call saying they were about to be very abruptly cancelled, as it looks like they abandoned filming that one to write an episode that could properly send them off, for some of this episode Murdock wore a t-shirt that said "almost fini" and they filled out the rest of the episode with clips from older episodes, including the entire epilougue of the episode.

This was technically the last episode ever shown, but clearly wasnt the last filmed episode, it was only shown at the end of the repeated syndicated run, and never in first run.

Satan, as in the devil?
Yep. They did a takeoff on It's a Wonderful Life, where a supposed "angel" shows a despondent J.R. what everyone else's lives would be like if he were never born. J.R. doesn't end up with the same happy ending as George Bailey, though.

BLAM!

Maybe he just shot the devil.
