Oh look, the Terms & Conditions on iTunes have changed again.

Gagh

I think that's the 3rd or 4th time this fucking month. How can I be expected to keep ripping their store off if I have to tick that box every time?

i gave up on them, limewire and sharepod...im just a common thief now

Every time Steve Jobs' health status changes, they add a new clause to the Terms in order to secure a little more money for the future.

Will, I kinda pay, but it works out a miniscule fraction of what they're asking. I never download music - just audiobooks, music videos & the odd TV series. The DRM can be removed from the audiobooks by just using a simple recording freeware prog & leaving the PC running. The others I'm not fussed if they don't last forever.

Otherwise, yes. Common thievery ;)

The future is bands selling their own music from their own websites.

People buy media on the internet?

Hasn't iTunes gone completely DRM-free now? Maybe that was what the updated T&C is about.

Amazon's music download looks pretty good (haven't used it, but no DRM.)

It apparently is, but I think the UK store has a smaller selection than the US store (I guess it costs a lot of money to ship all them 1's and 0's across from America!).

Well they have to go through the ocean.

Is there any way to falsify the DRM?

Evidently not. I downloaded a Carrie audiobook yesterday, and it's DRM.

they removed DRM from 8 million itunes tracks, effectively making them all "itunes plus" tracks. you can upgrade your library (redownload the tracks) for .30 apiece or just hold on to the old DRM stuff. the music companies determine what gets un-DRMed, however, so there are still pockets of DRM shit for sale. apple's goal is to completely un-DRM everything, but they have to start slow.

amazon is good, i was surprised at the ease and quality and shit. cheaper than itunes, yet tagged correctly so when you drop it into itunes it shows up perfect.

i used to pirate music, but they shut oink down. nothing compares, so i don't bother.

I am so far behind, I can barely understand how to upload podcasts to my nano.

but you do understand, right? just barely? 'cause i'm a consultant, i could teach you for a fee... friends and family rate... you know, if you didn't understand that is.

No, I'm good. Next I'm going to figger out how to upload some porn!

B...blog? N...nano?

A nano is just exactly like Haggis, except instead of a sheep's stomach stuffed with organs and viscera, it's an electronic device stuffed full of tiny ones and zeros.

Does that help?

Yes. In everyway possilb.e
