Messenger talked me round to watching it so I am. I'm not really a big Anime fan but I don't mind it either. Certainly not an expert on any of it.

I'm on the fourth episode and it's pretty good.

Messy sent me a website link: http://www.narutoget.com/ with all the episodes streamed on it which is good since I'm already torrented off my tits for the foreseeable future. It seems to have over 200 episodes though so it's going to be quite a commitment to get through them all.

Anyone else watch it?

Unless your Japanese watching Anime is like having orange clown hair. It might make you different, but not in a good way.

I didn't understand the sentence. Naruto has orange hair, yes. But I didn't understand what you were trying to say.

He got me started watching it too. I try to watch 3-6 eps a day and I'm on episode 63 right now. Sometimes the subtitles are really distracting and I have to watch episodes a second time to see the "action" or I see the action first, then have to watch part again to catch what they were saying.

It just keeps getting better and better. Wait till you get to Gaara!

I'm saying I know very, very few non-Asian Amine fans that aren't just lonely misfits trying to be cool by becoming obsessed over something they can claim is somehow intellectually superior to other art forms. A claim which is hard to refute because most normal people can't get through 5 seconds without turning it off.

That seems like a rather arbitrary statement.

I can go on and on.

We're all geeks here. Best just to embrace it.

I just googled "Naruto". Seems rather childish.

I watched Winter Cicada, though. A 3-episode movie about a gay couple, torn apart when Japan was starting to get westernized. One of them belongs to a pro-western clan, the other to a puritan clan that want westerners and their cultural invasion out of the country. They both end up meeting later in the battle ground. Very good stuff, but the "love" scenes will most likely make you feel uneasy, especially if you're a straight male.

I intend to watch "Grave of the Fireflies" and "Spirited Away", don't know when, though.

I still hate Amine. And I'm not happy about what you said about Star Trek fans. I think it's time for a geek rumble.

It did seem childish at first, but it's addicting. Claymore is pretty darn good too and it doesnt have 130,563,624,509 episodes.

I spent a year and a half living in japan trust me , amine was never intended for western audience...anywhere that has a comic book about a comic book aint right...

I might give it a try but I don't really think anime is suited to me (is there lots of smiling/giggling with eyes shut stuff?)

I'm really not the anime type either. I've tried on numerous occasions but it's never gripped me.

This is pretty cool though. The first few episodes were a bit childish (but still fun) but since episode 4 the mythology is more pronounced and it's shaping up really nicely. The fight scenes are really good and the humor is spot on. I may actually stick this one out.

I like some animé. I've never really had time to explore it, so I've only really seen the big famous ones. Evangelion, Akira, Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell, Studio Gibli movies, etc. They all have imaginative stories and fantastic animation that low and behold, you don't have to be Japanese or lonely to appreciate.

The humor is what makes it addicting. And Kakashi is kinda cute. I just watched 3 more eps since posting earlier in this thread.

I'm on the 17th episode now. It's a bloody good show.

"Believe it!"

I'm thinking Naruto might be code for "subliminal laxative."

I just finished episode 99. wow.... yes I'm hooked!

:D

I got into anime thanks to Adult Swim. I got hooked on some shows, and have the DVDs for Fullmetal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, some Lupin the Third, and have acquired sets for Ghost in the Shell, Full Metal Panic, Bo-bobo Bo-bobobo, and several others.

I never got hooked on Naruto, but it's interesting enough when it's on. Maybe I should pay more attention to a few more episodes...
