Do you want an AV because it is easier to read in the forum when you associate w/ a picture?
What I mean is-I ca see out of the corner of my eye who it is, when I turn avs,sigs, and images off I often have to double check who is posting.

Yeah I do too. But sometimes you can associate them too closely like when Bickendan and Pope Dan(Lonaf) came for a short visit. And Pope Dan was like "Do I look anything like you expected?" And I was like your nothing like your avatar.
