Weren't the vampires who that redneck killed the stereotypical hissing evil vampires who were threatneing to kill everyone in town? They deserved it.

Some excellent news. Snagged this off of Perez.

Looks like HBO finally has a new Sopranos on their hands!
The second season premiere of True Blood on Sunday night was the highest rated program for the premium cable network since the finale of The Sopranos.
According to the Nielson ratings, 3.7 million viewers tuned in to True Blood on Sunday!
Wow!
The ratings are up 157% from the first season's premiere and up 51% than last season's finale.
Sounds like HBO snagged a winner!

Cassie, I doubt ANYone can shame Eric into anything, inasmuch as I doubt highly he experiences shame.

spoilers from the books:
The three vamps who were burned were pretty awful, but don't forget the books stress vamps don't have the same morality as humans.
In Texas Sookie makes friends with vamps, but other than Bubba, she knows their first loyalties will always be for other vamps, and she could end up as lunch at any time if the vamps felt like it.

good question...for not being a "main" character, he's actually been pivotal in a couple of things...even though we dont learn about them til after they've happened...
I guess they could cast for a good impersonator...

not even like Buffy - although Eric enjoys watching Buffy and LOLs everytime the vampires get all vampy-faced.
 
It's darker, sexier and a helluva lot better to watch than Buffy.

it's it entirely bad that when bill and sookie got to fuckin', and you could see boobies and whatnot, the first thing that popped unbidden into my head was, "Wow, Captain Wacky is going to love this..."?

The only reason I think it's better than Buffy is because it can get away with so much more. I don't mean to say overall that it's better than Buffy (although wasn't a huge fan of the show when it was on its last legs) just in terms of violence and sex.
 
Well Buffy wasn't on HBO, yeah. Tara and Willow didn't even get to kiss properly until Joyce died.

Yeah, and then all three of the vamps seem to go to bite somebody.

I think the writers ran into a problem by making Lafayette so badass, especially since anyone who's read the books knows he dies in them. But they've made him such a fantastic character, they've had to backpedal a little bit.
