I like the Star Wars prequels and I DON'T FUCKING CARE what you think thread

Glad you enjoyed it, everyone else seems to have decided it sucks based on bad reviews (funny that the first few reviews were good and I posted them here in a fit of Star Wars love.)

I dont let bad reviews put me off a film, bad trailers on the other hand.

A few people who've seen it seem to like it but seem scared to say so in the middle of all the "LOL LUCAS EATS CGI BABIES FOR BREAKFAST" posts.

I liked it. Definitely a kid movie, here are some notes:

1) I liked that there were strong female charactes in Ashoka and Asajj.

2) I liked the complete absence of sexual tension between Ashoka and Anakin.

3) It appeared that there were two main character designs --look at the differences between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Anakin and Ashoka had the same nose!

4) It doesn't matter how big and bambi-eyed you make it, Rotta is still a turd.

5) I personally did not like any of the Padme scenes and did not appreciate Ziro the Hutt, but my husband said those were his favorite parts.

6) Jabba didn't seem as smart and perceptive as I would expect from him, but perhaps he was a victim of outside influences.

7) The lack of an opening crawl didn't bother me, the voiceover narration worked just fine.

I hope the tv series contains this high level of quality. I am surprised that Roger Ebert and Harry Knowles didn't like it, but Harry Knowles said his daughter and wife both really enjoyed it.

Jar Jar fucking Binks.

Need I say more?

I like Jar-Jar, I hope he shows up in the series.

And I hear that Ziro the Hutt was modeled after Truman Capote.

Does Jar Jar still talk like a Jamaican?

Jar Jar is great in Attack of the Clones when Palpatine exploits his stupidity to seize power. What a loser!

Yes! He was perfect in that episode! Not overused, essential to the plot, perfect!

He should have gotten a line in Sith, at least. Well, he does say "excuse me" but you can hardly hear it and I think it was just re-used from one of the previous movies.

I know I'm going to love Ziro the Hutt without even seeing Clone Wars yet.

He talks like Cartman

Sweet.

Just read another of the stupid trek BBS sci fi forum threads on the film.

I just want to grab some of these people, slap them around the face a bit, then lead them to their front door and get them to look outside, saying "this is the real world, try living in it!"

I want to club them and eat their bones.

Wow I was defensive in this thread (but then that was its premise.)

I had no issues with them.

None? Even I had issues.

None? Even I had issues.

They were fine for what they were. I guess my expectations were low enough, that it would have been hard to disappoint me.

"YEAH, GET 'IM DAD."

I am quite beside myself.

What a drag.
