I think you have the wrong number (BUT I'M NOT SURE)

You ever get a call from someone who's calling someone else with the same name? IT'S VERY CONFUSING. It happened to me last night.

HERE'S A RECAP OF THE CONVERSATION (best as I can remember)

Me: Hello

Brandon: hello

... long silence

Me: hello?

Brandon: Amanda?

Me: yeah, who is this?

Brandon: Brandon

another long silence..

Me: hello? who are you calling for?

Brandon: Amanda

Me: I don't know anyone named Brandon.

Brandon: Is this Amanda speaking?

Me: (inside my head: Amanda Speaking?) I think you have the wrong number?

HANG UP... then wonder if Brandon was really looking for me, and not someone named Amanda Speaking. LOL.. my life is soooo exciting.

That was me. :(

LoL.

I once pretended to be the gal some guy was looking for who was calling from Ireland just so I could listen to him talk, and told him if I sound confused it's because I was sick and taken some anthistamines.

Maybe he's looking up all the Amanda's in the phonebook and systematically phoning them like some kind of benevolent Terminator?

Never had that happen, but I do often right other people at the exact second they are ringing me, so the phone never rings at either end and we just get connected straight away.

Oh, the phone equivalent of going up to your own front door in Neighbours. There's always another resident unexpectedly standing on the other side about to knock.

I'm hoping Brandon calls me back and we can become wrong number friends.

didja ever think that brandon was looking for love? that you and he might have drifted of in to an ejaculatory bliss boundless of space, time, and towels? that the very heavens would have shuddered like your very thighs during the brink of climax because of your finally rejoined love?

but no - telephone etiquette required that he know you first, pah.

He sounded a bit thick, tbh!

That sounds splendid.
