I really (still to this day) don't get the "SMG was hot until S4/5" thing. All that happened was that she lost the baby fat in her cheeks. How did this turn her ugly all of a sudden?

Because I found her hot until the point where she stopped being hot around season four. It didn't "turn her ugly" she just wasn't hot anymore.
