I'm afraid the Pickles logo is not a graphic!
Not ao much snowed in today, as iced in. The snow stopped at about 6pm last night, and subsequently most of what has fallen has turned into 4+ inches of ice.
I walked with Dad into his work place today, and picked up some shopping for myself & Mum. Neither of us trusted her going out in it, she already has a dodgy hip, and I insisted on going round to see to both of them. Well dodgy walking back, nearly slipped a couple of times, but it all goes to show just how unprepared we are as a country for this.
Luckily, I have a pair of ski trousers I use for wet weather, which more than did the business, and an old pair of Doc Martens that gave some decent grip - but nothing like a snow shovel, crampons, or a decent salt supply, which I will now make sure I buy over the next few weeks, along with some decent boots.
I've seen icicles for the first time since I was about 6 or 7 (seriously, we never get snow down here), and walked in the thickest snow I've ever seen. Put some food out for the birds, which was snaffled up inside 30 minutes, poor bloody things!
