The Doc does have a habit of standing outside the TARDIS looking forlorn as snow begins to settle around him. And then the moment's broken by his new companion. GAGH.


Just had a peek outside and it's coming down, but there's no more than about an inch so far.
 
Snow hardly ever lays in or around London. Too warm.
 
all the building keeps the heat from the cars and everything else locked in...
 
It doesn't have too much trouble settling here in the outskirts, it's just a matter of whether it will fall in the first place. The snow we had before Christmas lasted about a week. Of course, it doesn't matter how much we have, there WILL be chaos.

Here in NC if it snows an inch and a half, things come to a halt. Everything closes.

Might have something to do with the fact that the south knows NOTHING about snow removal. Schools were closed for 4 days one year due to the sun not melting the ice fast enough. Seriously. Meh.

Enjoy the white stuff, Gagh. It'll melt soon enough.

What kind of tea?

Perhaps you could rent a snowplough from one of the states on the east coast or the canada?

We had a foot of snow for Christmas. 3 days later there was a spike in the temperature and it was gone. Now we're in the middle of a bitter cold wave, but with no snow.

If I have to have the cold, I'd rather have snow with it. It makes things more pleasant visually, and less depressing than sheer, invisible, killer cold.
 
hear hear, eggs, we had the same shit happen to us is chi-town. we're supposed to get many more inches tonight and etc., so expect it in a couple days.
 
I kinda wish it would snow at least once this winter. Since I'm not working in the school system right now, I'd have no snow days to make up. That's the cool part.

Don't ask me about the Memorial Day we had to have class because of excess snow days that year. Oh, I was pissed...
 
Shit, six inches of snow here in upstate NY is barely enough to consider putting on your boots for. We're stuck in a lake-effect loop that drops about five inches a day of fresh snow, and about twenty miles east of me they got four 1/2 feet. Four and a half. feet. In inches that's 54. In centimeters that's "fuck me, I'm calling in today..."
 
If it snowed four and a half feet in the UK it would be the end of civilisation as we know it.

At least the women of NY should be happy to wake up to six inches.
