Don't meetups IRL spoil the mystery? I mean b-board posters have a certain "radio personality" element to them yes? Radio people NEVER look IRL what you picture them looking like hearing them on the airwaves. No doubt the same is true of b-board posters.

I don't think so. I've had a couple meetups and they've been nothing but pleasant and fun. They also COMPLETELY dispel said personality you refer to in this post.
