Pulaski was mean to Data because McCoy was mean to Spock and they were trying to do the same thing in TNG (it didn't work).

She played a Starfleet astrophysicist in "Return to Tomorrow" (can't remember her name) who lets Thalassa take control of her. I'm pretty sure she was the highest ranked Starfleet female officer shown on the entire run of TOS as well.

Her more memorable performance was of course as Miranda Jones in "Is There no Truth in Beauty."

As for Pulaski they failed in making her a McCoy clone which was a stupid idea to start with but I did like the character and it still annoys me that she just vanished from the series and was only name checked a few times later and essentially totally forgotten.
