Hayden Panettiere to portray Amanda Knox

Lifetime has plans to bring the story of Amanda Knox to the small screen, and “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere will play the lead, according to Variety.

Knox, who as a U.S. student studying abroad in Italy was convicted of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher, is currently serving a 26-year prison sentence. The film, Variety reports, will follow the events that surrounded the headline-grabbing trial.

“The Amanda Knox Story” comes from the same folks who brought you Discovery's “Dirty Jobs,” and is in fact the production company's first scripted project.

The movie is expected to debut on Lifetime sometime next year.

But all the parts where the media are reporting Knox being hot won't make sense if she's played by Hayden...
 
It's going to be on Lifetime. Hot women won't market well there.

So since she is an american convicted of a crime abroad, I assume the film will say she never did it?
 
Who knows how they will handle it.

I liked her when Heroes started and she was slim and wore a cheerleading outfit, but now she's dumpy and orange and has bushy eyebrows (I believe "Oompa Loompa" is the technical term).
 
She just wants a normal life, daddy.
 
I found her attractive beginning of Heroes, not so much now.
