For fucking real. I've been forced to listen to it for the last 3 hours or so and it sounds like one fucking 3-hour song!!

Why are you listening to mexican music for 3 hours?

Occasionaly when browsing the stations I'll find a mexican station and think, "Oh how nice this music seems so upbeat, I'll listen to it for a while"

That lasts for less than a minute.

Well, a lot of it has the same beat.

A lot of it sounds like Polka, which I kinda like.

Maybe it was the Mexican Hat Dance. I could listen to that for hours.

Mexican church programming is the funniest stuff ever. I listened to it a little when I was trying to sharpen my ear for the language and those guys really get into their Jesus de Cristo and his nemesis, El Diaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabloooooooo! I couldn't stop laughing long enough to practice translating the regular speech. It was like listening to the Lucha Libre wrestling on Sabado Gigante.

I was gonna guess traffic jam. In my experience most music a person doesn't care for blends into one loud, long, monotonous noise. Like techno-club music for me, or the current auto-tune urban beat craze, I can't stand that shit. But other people say the same for down-home blues, southern style rock, or whatever else you can call music. Each to his own I guess.

Recently I was listening to some arabic/Indian pop music (partly SuN's fault) and although some of iit was interesting it tended to have that "sameness" to it...at least to my ear. I think it comes down to exposure, which translates to listening hours. In order to make sense of it you gotta listen to a lot of it, and that means liking it enough to want to do that. If you hate it already, hours of it ain't gonna help...
