"I was jumping like a jumping bean. I was screaming at the top of my lungs. I was so excited that this opportunity had come up."

No it's the Sun who are idiots. She was talking about how she played a character in a movie. Actors often talk about the fact that when they play a real-life character, they can't go into the role with any judgments. And it's true. And the fact that she was excited when she learned she got the part isn't out of line either. The Sun is the real guilty party here, for sensationalizing it.

I'm sure plenty of innocent girls murder other girls, then laugh when the police arrive, then do handstands in the police station while waiting to be charged.
 
She wasn't confusing the character she played in a movie with the real girl in her remarks. But The Sun wants everyone else in the world to think she is when they read the story.

It's not her job to join the angry mob when she takes a biopic role. It's her job to get into the character's head enough to play it faithfully.

People taking all the anger they have at Knox and firing it at Hayden isn't productive.
 
While this case is still 'live' and pending appeals, movies about it should not be produced. I don't like the way it's been painted in the press as a UK v USA thing either.

Rich - I think she was completely off her tits on drink & drugs at the time. That may explain her actions when the police arrived. It also probably explains why she may have killed that girl.
 
Leaving controversy aside, anyone else think HP might be a little disappointed by her career so far?

Seemed to start off ok with a hit show, which eventually became a shit show, then instead of going off into feature films, shes in a tv movie playing a murderer?

Even SMG managed to get into films that were shown at the cinema.
 
She's too busy dating sports starts who are about 2 feet hight and 10 years older than her. It's still early in her career, to be honest, but yeah, she could have picked upa couple of cameos in some Hollywood movies to get her feet on the ladder.

I guess its down to what she wants to do, really. The whole concept of this particular TV movie is ill-concieved, however.

Hayden was already a "veteran" character actor when she got Heroes. She had already done regular roles on 2 soaps, tons of guest spots on TV shows, several movies and TV movies, and had recurring parts on Ally McBeal and Malcolm in the Middle. She's been at this since she was 6 or 7. That's why I think of her more as a character actor than an ingenue, especially if you've seen her on Malcolm in the Middle. She's hilarious.

Playing a murderer didn't do Anthony Hopkins any harm...

The Sun are bastards, but they are clever, vicious bastards - so that makes them dangerous. They also enjoy telling stupid people what to think. Before long, they will be using infographics to explain how buying The Sun increases your penis length, and kills Bin Laden AT THE SAME TIME.

He also tries to tell entire nations what to think. Because the Tories have had it in for the BBC for a while Rupert instructed The Sun and The Times to repeatedly say VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

The amount of articles The Times runs attacking Google is also quite extraordinary. Basically, if you're in the media game, and The Dirty Digger believes pinching every penny is his God Given Right, every media outlet he has at his command will attack you.

But sorry Eggs she's still a moron and I don't care how long she's been acting, she was absolutely shit in Heroes for four years and completely unconvincing as a human being and this movie is going to be a trainwreck of epic proportions and I agree with Gagh that it shouldn't be made right now and it's extremely poor taste and she wears the most awful make-up ever SO THERE.

I totally agree with the bolded part, and I don't know how I ended up being such a defender of her, seeing as I barely even watched Heroes while it was on. I think I was more defending the things she said about acting, because those were the things that got twisted in the article. Actors have to be free to explore whatever character they play (YES EVEN HITLER) without judging them, and playing them how the script dictates. Even if it's a shit TV movie that shouldn't have been made.

The religious zealots and the PC police already try to censor so much product and content, I won't stand for them going even further and trying to attack the very process of acting itself. They all need to shut the fuck up and stay home.

Murdoch's the real life Mr Burns. He looks like he should've died decades ago, and most people wish he had, but he trudges along in life being an unwelcome old cunt in everyone's faces. (sorry... I think that Spartacus show is affecting my metaphors.)

But with regards to this show, I agree with Gagh. While she's still appealing her conviction (or so I believe - I haven't followed the story much), it seems ill-advised to film a story about her. Obviously this isn't going to sway a judge or jury or whatever, but it'd be respectful to everyone involved to just let the dust settle a bit before trying to make money out of a high profile murder.
 
Yeah the Sun probably is purposely msinterpreting what she says and I'm probably just willing to believe it because I dislike her for taking so much fucking screentime on Heroes with her never ending "I just want a normal life oh hey I'm a lesbian now I guess" storylines although really I should have stopped watching after season one.
 
To be fair, it wasn't her fault that the Heroes writers sucked. There can only be so many ways to say "I just wanna be normal!"

It was her eyebrows that I took objection to.
 
I stopped after Season 2, which was one of the worst written & most hastily contrived heaps of crap I've seen.

As for this chick's worth as a human being - I have no opinion. She seems OK, but I'm no expert. As for her acting ability - I thought she was pretty good in Heroes Season 1, and seeing as I've only seen her in Heroes, I have little opinion on that matter either. I know I see much worse actors every day on British soaps, and in low-budget movies.

She's not exactly another Pia Zadora in training.
 
Sylar was the worst written character in tv history but Zachary Quinto always managed to make him watchable. UNLIKE HAYDEN CHRISTENSSEN.
