I have always said it /gro sher eee/ but it is pronounced /gro sir ree/

Whenever I hear people say /gro sir ree/ it is like fingernails on a chalkboard because it is not a natural sound for my mouth to produce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happens to me when my mom pronouces roof as rough/ruff.
