Pretty close. Its not quite a 10-hour drive away from me. Going to make it a short vacation destination. There ought to be something significant at the center of the country.

Since 1959 this location still stands as the Geographic Center of the Contiguous United States, while the geographic center of the entire U.S. moved to a point northeast of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. source

It doesn't sound like a promising vacation destination, the population is only 218.

If your route goes over Trail Ridge Road, that is an awesome drive. At the top of that road, in the middle of nothing much but the road cut through 20 foot high snow banks, there is an outpost complete with a cute dog that has the job of being a cute dog - seriously.
