Sources: Clippers land James Harden in blockbuster 76ers trade
The LA Clippers acquired 10-time All-Star guard James Harden in a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, sources told ESPN. The 76ers sent Harden, P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev to the Clippers for Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, KJ Martin, a 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, a 2029 pick swap and an additional first-round pick from the Oklahoma Thunder, sources told ESPN. The Clippers are sending a 2027 first-round pick swap to Oklahoma City, clearing the way for the Thunder to move a protected 2026 first-round pick to the 76ers, sources said. The Clippers are sending a 2024 and a 2029 second-round pick to the Sixers in the deal too, sources said. The Sixers will waive veteran guard Danny Green to create the roster space for the trade, sources said. The Clippers and 76ers began talking again on a trade over the weekend as it became increasingly untenable for Harden to be incorporated back into the Sixers' lineup, sources said. Harden has been one of the league's top players for the past decade, winning three scoring titles and the 2018 league MVP award. He led the league in assists last season.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid received an invitation to WrestleMania 40 from Triple H himself -- but only after picking up a hefty fine. The reigning MVP made what the league deemed as "obscene gestures" during the 76ers' 126-98 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. As a result, he was fined $35,000 for making four crude chops that were inspired by the "Suck It" celebration from the iconic WWE group D-Generation X. The incident took place in the second quarter after Embiid cashed in on a full-court pass with a layup. He finished the game with 35 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 blocks.
WrestleMania 40, the WWE's biggest event of the year, will take place during the first weekend of April at Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, the Sixers are scheduled for road games on consecutive nights against the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs during that same weekend, so Embiid is unlikely to be in attendance. Triple H has been a part of the Sixers pregame festivities with Embiid in the past.
