I woke up this morning to find my cell phone screen is cracked. This is the first time I've done this and I have no idea how I did it. I do not remember doing anything that would crack the screen and the phone is so small that it is very hard to break (because it is so much lighter and smaller than other phones). It looks like it's time to bite the bullet and adjust my budget and austerity measures.

It's nice to own a home when you have pets. Then you don't lose your damage deposit when they destroy it.
The Cat has a threshold between the living room and the kitchen that he has selected as a scratching post. It was mostly harmless when he was little but at this point he's gouged up his preferred end pretty well. And he's destroyed a piece of adhesive backed vinyl plank there. Luckily I have extra material and the one he destroyed is maybe 6x6" because of the way they happened to get laid down.
Meanwhile The Dog digs the carpet in the back room in a couple spots. When I realized she was damaging the carpet I got some remnants out to lay over the spots where she digs. Today I discovered that she actually manages to move the remnant and dig on the laid carpet and has damaged it in one spot to the point where it will need to be patched if I keep a carpet there.

SAD! I found out my passport expired in January. You can renew online if it's within a year so that was on my list of things to do, I just needed a photo, but I had time. Then BAM! somehow it's already October. So I decided to get it taken care of today. Kind of pointless, getting a new photo, though, because I basically look exactly the way I did 10 years ago. Got the picture back and had a look at it. Nope. I'm a hideous old man. If I really want to cry, I've got a driver's license from when I was around 19 or 20 in the drawer in front of me. I used to be so beautiful. Now I'm decrepit.
