TASKMASTER

Took like a six month break before finishing series 15, but that was a while ago now so I can't remember much. Frankie Boyle was a bit too subdued. I don't think it was one of the better series, but again I can't really remember.

Series 16 - Only one episode in but Sam Richardson and Lucy Beaumont is a good combination of craziness. Always liked Lucy but didn't like her husband (Jon Richardson) much so it's nice they got divorced! That was a bit nasty, sorry.

In September, Lucy broke her silence about the marriage split, revealing that one major issue was Jon's inability to admit when he was wrong, describing him as 'stubborn'.

That does confirm my bias though lol.

Good to see Julian Clary on it too.

I had no idea that Lucy and Jon had been divorced. The things you miss when you're on the other side of the pond...

How'd you get so far behind? Just finished the penultimate episode of Series 19 here.

I only watch it under certain conditions!

Now I'm curious as to what those certain conditions are...

Finally finished series 16 on my "only watch 17 minutes a week" schedule. The only correct way to watch it. Good series, as I predicted, with Lucy and Sam being great, but no weak links. I wonder if Americans thought Julian Clary was being too nasty to Alex? I thought it was fine since he has a well established comedy persona.

Series 17 line-up isn't great, only know 2 of the 5. Doesn't mean it won't be good. Could try to get up to 34 minutes a week so I can get to series 18 in 3 months rather than 6. Stay tuned.

Better fix something, because series 20 just finished.

I'll just need to avoid all the huge Taskmaster spoilers you see all over the internet.

Oh you mean like Ania Magliano
and her paternity test revealing Greg Davies is her father?

And Alex dying in the season 19 finale and being replaced by Jon Tickle, yes I already know.

Holy shit, there's a name I haven't heard in forever. Not since Brainiac with Hammond.

An inspired choice for sure, can't wait to see how he does in series 20 when I get to it in 18 months!

Champion of Champions 4 was a good show.
Was pulling for Maisie, but Mathew's just too good.

Halfway through the New Year's Treat. Love how these guys are "Non-Comedians" but watching them, they really should be.

Series 21 cast has been leaked

Amy Gledhill
Armando Iannucci
Joanna Page
Joel Dommett
Kumail Nanjiani

It's said to have a Diner theme this series.

Armando and Kumail seem like pretty huge gets.

I actually finished series 17 already, as a slot opened in my tv watching schedule. Despite my fears about the line-up it turned out to be a good series. Sophie Willan made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Nick and Steve were a very fun team. The Irish girl was fine! I did wonder if the others got a bit annoyed at John Robins winning most of the episodes and winning the series by such a huge margin.

Started series 18 and already Rosie Jones is talking about picking food out of her belly button with a letter opener...

I have the New Year thing recorded and will probably watch it EARLIER than I should.

18 - Not as good as 17, but not bad. I think they have the formula down to the extent where they can't make a bad series anymore. I know some people really hate Rosie Jones but I thought she was quite funny. Maybe slowed the show down a bit (for understandable reasons.) Baba was pretty rubbish and not all that funny. I got a weird feeling that Greg fancied Emma a bit. Andy was decent when he wasn't going on about fucking cricket. Jack Dee was good and managed to stick to his comedy persona all the way.

Don't know if I'll watch 19 yet as it's only on the Channel 4 app with unskippable ads.

Can you watch it on their YouTube channel inside the UK? That's how we've been watching the last few series.

The Youtube channel only goes up to series 18, same as Netflix, so I guess 4 want to force people to use their app thing for a while.

Yeah, but you know me and that I'm annoyingly particular about how I watch things and this is a show I watch on tv (usually while I eat dinner) rather than something I watch on computer.

I managed to time the ad breaks for when I was getting food out the oven or washing up.

Ah my bad, yeah only series 18 in the UK. But 19 & 20 are here in the States. Sorry, thought it would work. I need to use my VPN more often, I think I'll watch Mock the Week!
