Caleb Love will leave North Carolina, enter transfer portal



Love, a 6-foot-4 guard from St. Louis, is arguably the biggest name in the transfer portal to date. He averaged a career-high 16.7 points this season, shooting 37.8% from the field, while also contributing 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The former five-star recruit boosted his stock during North Carolina's run to the national championship game last season, averaging 18.8 points in six NCAA tournament games. He scored 30 points and made six 3-pointers against UCLA in the Sweet 16, then went for 28 points against Duke in the Final Four.

Smith to leave NC State, enter NBA draft
Smith, the No. 30 prospect in the ESPN 100, was named to the All-ACC second team after leading NC State in scoring (17.9 points), assists (4.1) and steals (1.5). Smith finished as the second-leading scorer in the ACC as well as the second most prolific 3-point shooter with 91 makes on the season.
 
Hokies star Elizabeth Kitley returning for fifth-season
Kitley, a 6-foot-6 center, was the projected No. 8 overall pick in ESPN's latest WNBA mock draft. She has averaged roughly 18 points per game each of the past three seasons in Blacksburg, while averaging a double-double as both a sophomore and a senior.

Former Cal guard Jayda Curry transferring to Louisville
Curry, a 5-foot-6 sophomore guard, led the Bears in scoring during her first two seasons in Berkeley and paced the Pac-12 in scoring at 18.6 points per game in 2021-22. She was deemed the Pac-12 freshman of the year by the media, as well as a two-time all-conference selection by that group
 

Former Clemson QB Bryant among 50 to attend WWE tryout


Former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant and former Baylor basketball defensive standout Mark Vital are among a group of current and former college athletes who will try out with WWE this week, leading up to WrestleMania in Los Angeles. Bryant helped Clemson to the 2017 ACC championship and a College Football Playoff appearance before transferring to Missouri the following year. WWE will put 26 women and 24 men through a series of performance and promotion evaluations, and assess whether to offer any contracts at the end of the week.

Louisville transfer Jaelyn Williams headed to North Carolina
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds last season. He shot 41.7% from 3-point range and had 12 games with multiple made 3s to show some inside-out ability needed by a UNC team that struggled to make outside shots.
