All Things SNL

I haven't watched any of those yet, or maybe just one of them. I will have lots to keep me busy and watch until next season I suppose.

Do you have a favorite?
A favorite season? Not one in particular. A fan of the golden era of the 90's I suppose.

This makes Gardner, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, and Michael Longfellow departing the cast.

Bowen Yang is still rumored to be departing, nothing confirmed.

They'd be dead without Bowen. Just dead.

There's also lots of buzz that we could (finally) be getting new Weekend Update anchors... nothing confirmed yet.

Doesn't surprise me really. Michael Che has been checked out for like five years, and it seems to be the last thing that Colin Jost is hanging on to. He's up for an emmy for hosting Pop-Culture Jeopardy, so he's got options.

Another year of Che-Jost Weekend Update "haha sure the jokes are racist and misogynistic but it's ironic if you hear it that way so shut up haha"

So correct me if I'm wrong. That leaves Kenan Thompson as the only black cast member left now yeah?

Before anyone says Michael Che, all he does is Weekend Update, so I don't really consider him a 'cast member'. Nor do I consider Colin Jost one either.

One of the new cast members is black, but he's also a raunchy, kinda toxic standup comedian so I wonder how long he'll last...

Lorne's intolerant, but it seems to becoming the norm these days, what with people like Tony Hinchcliffe and his KILLTONY tour.

Strangely I haven't followed along yet on the cast changes. I was avoiding it.

I'm glad I waited until tonight to see who the cast is this next season.
Bad Bunny rocked it.

I missed the first half hour, which apparently was the best part, because Update and all the sketches after it were meh.

Nice cameo by HUNTER/X in the KPop Demon Hunter sketch.

Couldn't tell it was Jon Hamm who did a walk-on in the final sketch until he was standing there at the goodnights.

I thought Lorne was gonna "shake things up"? This is the same SNL that's it's been for 20 years, only with less talent than last year.

Bad Bunny has become a great actor. I caught a couple of sketches after I got home tonight. I'll watch the whole show later, but what I saw, he nailed. Loved the KPop Demon Hunters stuff. Gotta see the whole sketch!

I can't say that I laughed out loud the whole night, I think I enjoyed Bowen's appearance on Weekend Update mostly because of his wardrobe malfunction.

The Saturday Night Network folks made a couple of plugs-Amy Poehlers movie, "They came together"
Bill Hader has a podcast
and Kate Mckinnon eating Hot Wings. (You can find it on YouTube)

Tonight we had 2 restaurant scenes back to back which was weird, but I liked the sperm donor sketch, I enjoyed the Spanish language sketch, the cold open, Bad Bunny's monologue. I have to go back and re-watch the rest.

Well now I am watching "Skeleton Twins" with Hader and Wiig.
