"...and the sky's the limit!"

I want to smell dark matter
Best closing line in a Trek series ever!

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Anyone remember the final line in TOS?

"Her life could've been as rich as any woman's. If only... if only..."

thats impressive remembering there

It's impressive Memory-Alphaing, really.

The TOS line wasn't planned as the finale line in the series, so forget that (though you could take "if only, if only..." to mean IF ONLY WE WEREN'T CANCELLED YOU SHITS.)

The others tried too hard to create an iconic ending line.

"The sky's the limit" works because it's something people might just say naturally in a conversation when playing poker but it had a double limit because it's also about the ongoing development of humanity.

"The more things change the more they stay the same" was good but a wee bit cutesy for Quark. Maybe if Kira had said it sarcasically it would have worked.

"Set a course...for home!" was the last line in the first episode so it was okay and impressive that hte Voyager writers actually remembered something that far back. Still Endgame sucked so much that I didn't care by that point.

What was Enterprise's? "Computer, end program!" LOL.

Of course all the other ending lines were actual ending lines, not "lets end the show today and start work on the movie tomorrow"

I want my DS9 movie fuckers!

the alternate scene ended with Patrick Stewart exclaiming, "..and that's when I found out she was a transexual!"

"Of course I'd already seen everything."

The sky is the limit is an absurd line for Star Trek; they are out in space which is way past the sky so the sky can't be the limit FOR THE WORLD IS HOLLOW AND I HAVE TOUCHED THE SKY

Silly Gonad. That's the whole point of the saying. "The sky's the limit" means there IS no limit. ;)

Anyway, not only a great, great last line, a great, great episode. IIRC they were working on it at the same time they were working on "Generations". It's too bad they didn't just shitcan the "Generations" script and make "All Good Things" the first TNG movie (and spend their movie budget to produce it, of course).

All Good Things can almost make me cry at the end, especially when Troi tells Picard "you were always welcome" at the poker table.

I watched Generations again today after a long time. Enjoyable enough. I noticed Data had his Sherlock Holmes outfit hanging in his quarters, which was a nice touch. But the Klingons watch Georgi taking a bath, wtf?

They wanted to see if the HEW-MAN myth was true, that black men had the penis of a WARRIOR.
