Angelina tops sexiest film star poll

Angelina Jolie has been crowned as the nation's sexiest movie star, according to a survey by Empireonline.com.

More than 20,000 people voted via Empire magazine's website to rank their 100 film favourites.

V For Vendetta and Star Wars vixen Natalie Portman narrowly missed out on the top spot but still managed to beat Daniel Craig by taking second place.

However, the 007 star not only heads up the British contingent in the list, but he's also the highest ranking male, ahead of Johnny Depp at number five and Brad Pitt at number seven.

And the Martini drinker isn't the only one flying the British flag - it would appear that the UK has no shortage of screen sirens. Keira Knightley came ninth, as the highest ranking British female, and her Atonement co-star James McAvoy made an appearance at 27.

The British sex appeal continued with showings from Kate Winslet (20), Orlando Bloom (21) and Clive Owen (25).

It seems some stars still live on in our hearts and minds. Marilyn Monroe, in at 14, still has the extra factor, even though the starlet passed away more than 40 years ago, and the late Marlon Brando, Clarke Gable and Rita Hayworth also made appearances at numbers 30, 51 and 59 respectively.

Natalie has been robbed by old jumbo lips.
