Yay anime! And manga, can't forget manga!

Anywho, the latest anime I've seen is My-Hime, which I high recomend. It starts out as a simple school comedy, but starts to deepen...ooooh, suspence!
And on the manga front, I've gotten pretty far in Fushigi Yugi, which I didn't think I would like like.

I just picked up Vol. 2 of My-HiME, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I loved the first volume, and it's got a great mix of comedy, action, and drama.

Gundam SEED Destiny Vol. 2 comes out tomorrow. That one I won't hesitate in watching. Lunamaria is on the cover of this one. ;)

On the Manga front, I just picked up the first volume of School Rumble. A great comedy. I'm also watching the fansubs, and they are absolutely hilarious! :bigass:

School Rumble, eh? What's it about, I'm a sucker for a good comedy like FLCL, Excel Saga, Azumanga Diaoh, Those Who Hunt Eleves...the list goes on. Oh, and I also enjoy a good shoujo-ai story, in case you havn't figured it out yet, :p

If you like Azumanga Daioh, then you should enjoy this one. This has the romantic element that was missing from that series.
Tsukamoto Tenma is an ordinary 2nd year high school student who has fallen in love with one of her classmates, Karasuma Ooji. However, currently she is unable to confess her feelings to him. To make things worse, she found out that Karasuma is transferring to another school in a year. On the other hand, Tenma's other classmate, Harima Kenji (who is a delinquent) is also in love with Tenma. Not being able to confess his feelings, Harima gets depressed day by day.
Absolutely hilarious.

Oh, and I also enjoy a good shoujo-ai story, in case you havn't figured it out yet, :p
You say that as if I don't know what 'Yuri' means. ;)

^^Well, yuri does "mean" lily, just like gay "maens happy, so you never know...:D
Hey, have you seen Naruto yet? Not that crap they run on Toonami, but the real stuff? It's a pretty great series!

I don't usually get into the massively large series.

There are exceptions of course, such as Rurouni Kenshin, which is just too damned good, and Detective Conan, which is made up of individual episodes.

InuYasha, and Naruto, and stuff like that is very hard to get into with hundreds of episodes under it's belt.

You've seen Detective Conan? Lucky. The closet I every got was Cased Close, which was kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I've been told the two are quite different, any comment?

And I get what your saying about Naruto and InuYasha, it's really true. I was just lucky enough to snag a copy of the fist volume of InuYasha manga, and my friend gave me the first 75 eps of Naruto.

Short series, like Cowboy Bebop and FLCL, are easier to get into, but I prefer the big, long ones for the same reason I like TV and movies: If I really love the characters, then I never want it to end. Well, except Dragon Ball...that one coulda die a lot sooner far as I'm concered.

I call it Detective Conan, like I call His and Her Circumstances 'Kare Kano'. I'm not aware of any differences. I like the stories, and can sometimes figure it out before Conan does.....but not always. ;)

I've got over 100 episodes of Inuyasha, but sitting down and watching them? YIKES!!

You can watch 4 series, or 2 Gundam Series in that span. Great stories, great characters, but the story is too damned long.

Take Dragonball Z for instance....how many fucking episodes do you need to complete ONE battle?

As far as I'm concered, Dragonball was a good show. Do you notice the lack of "Z" there? I have a theory, that no matter how great a story is, if it is forced to go past it's limit, then it becomes crap. And, alas, that's what happened to Dragonball when the fans foolishly clamored fo rmore...all well

As far as Gundams go, the only one I know really well is GundamWing, and I really loved it. Oh, wait, I also know Gundam SD...but that's a whole 'nother topic right there.

Hey, I said the only one I know "really well" is Wing, doesn't mean I don't know the others. Luna just happens to be under my "Random Anime/Manga Facts" heading, you know, something you hear at a con or something and it just sticks.

I saw pictures of her here and there, and then read about her in NewType, and then started collecting wallpapers, scans, figures, and now finally the DVDs. I seem to keep falling for the secondary characters. ;)

Yay secondary characters! For some reason, they all seem to be so much better than the main cast...
Anyway, as far as collections and such go, aside from my pins and cards of course, I'm a pretty lousy otaku. Of course, this could be because I have no income, and therefor no money to buy my own anime and manga. Thankfully the comic store down the street from me, called Samurai Comics (their mascot is Kenshin), does anime DVD rentals.

Here's my Anime DVD Collection

Aside from that, I also have Macross: Do You Remember Love?, and Burst Angel on R3, which I won in a contest recently.

I've got a few things on VHS as well.

And as it pertains to Fansubs, I've completed, or am working on...

I probably missed one or two in there.

Once again, wow @ your collection. And as far as the fansub list, I've heard a lot of great thing about To Heart. And you do know your going to have to tell me more about Kashimashi, right?

Kasimasi ~ Girl Meets Girl
Hazumu confessed his love to Yasuna, but she turned down him. To ease his heartbreak, he went to Mt. Kashimayama where he had met her first. He lost his way in the mountain, and it was night time. He saw a big shooting star, and when he began to wish, he found something was wrong. It was not a shooting star, but it was a falling space ship. He was involved in the crash. He managed to survive by the help of the alien. However, he became a girl due to the accident during the reconstruction of his body.

...hmmmm, that sounds oddly familar, I think I may have heard of it somewhere along the line...oh well, still sounds pretty good. I'm a pretty big sucker for series about case of mistaken gender idenity, like I! My! Me! Strawberry Eggs!

I've got that one too. ;)

Except that's not a case of mistaken gender identity. Hideki purposely dresses up in drag, so he can get that job as a teacher. It ain't no mistake. ;)
