Another friends nitpick

Joey wasn't that bad. His extreme retardation was the perfect comedy foil for Chandler. Never had a problem with Phoebe either and I thought Aniston had great comedy timing with Rachael.

Nah... for me... I could never stand Monica.
 
Well she morphed too over the years, from someone who liked things to be neat and tidy, to being out and out COD.

Plus she must have been pissed off considering the show was meant to revolve around her, and she ended up being the least important character.
 
Yeah basically about half way through season 3 they must have had a writers meeting and said
"Hey guys I know us team of about 50 writers are finding it difficult to write all these episodes, so we've decided that instead of "personalities", we're just going to boil each of the 6 F.R.E.I.N.D.S. into a single trait. From now on:

Monica is anal. She likes things that are tidy. This is her entire personality.
Rachel is... well, we're not sure what Rachel is. Just make sure her nipples poke out through every costume she has and we're pretty sure no one will notice.
Phoebe is kooky. Kooky. Kooky. That's it. Never more will she ever respond like a normal human being.
Ross is now pathetic and any dignity he once has is gone as we just don't find that funny enough.
Chandler makes sarcastic one-liners. He may do nothing else.
Joey is now about 20 times stupider than he once was.

What we hope to achieve with this is that we no longer have to write actual "jokes". We can just look at what character is in the scene and write something accordingly. Also, half of you are fired."


And it's really noticable when you look at a first or second season episode and Phoebe actually acts like a rational human being, Joey isn't borderline retarded and Ross can actually accomplish something without it failing in a ZANY way.

Maybe Chandler fucked Elliot Gould-Gellar in the ears off screen, and they loved him after that too, because his wife was watching and it cured her women's ovarian period-thingy cancer or something.
 
Yeah, maybe all that shit happened and also LeBlanc was a coke fiend and he sent the guy who played Gunther out to buy some but he got busted so they did a story where Gunther dies of AIDS to punish him the bastard.
 
honestly, i only watched the 1st season which i was actually was not too bad
but once the marcel went, i knew it was all down hill from there
i think i may have got out a little early, but better that then enduring 238 episodes of the mind numbing garbage it became...
 
You missed The One Where Stone Cold Stuns the Monkey.
 
Another error was in the episode where Monica was sucking off Chandler and Joey walked in and said "hey, you never suck off me!" when an earlier episode (in fact it was the previous week's episode) featured a drunken Monica sucking off Joey for 14 minutes in Central Perk.
 
She was probably just trying to get it clean
