Anyone got voyager endgame on DVD?

I could use some screen grabs of the future ship Rhode Island, as captained by Harry Kim.

It's not a future design. The Rhode Island is Nova class.

I don't have my Voyager DVD's handy right now but if memory serves the Rhode Island wasn't even a refit design of the Nova in Endgame. Twas just a normal Nova.

Your memory is letting you down, this is the rhode island, clearly based on the nova class, but with enough differences to make it at the least a varient, at the most an entirly new class.

But thanks for the ferences anyway.

fecking double post!

I stand corrected. It is indeed a refit then. Most likley they took out the second deflector array due to its misson requirements since the Nova was a lightly armed science vessel and useless in any type of combat role. The Equinox certainly was. I imagine the second deflector would be the first thing to go in a refit that was to up the combat capabilites of the Nova class. Rich Sternbach doesn't miss a beat does he. It was criminal for them not to bring him aboard for Enterprise.

Still, the Rhode Island is not a new class on its own. Most definitley a refit. But still a Nova class ship.

It still has a smaller secondary defector, but it has a photon torpedo launcher on either side of it.

Rick got shafted in the switch from physical models to CGI models.

He's commented on my work a few times in the trek art forum, cool guy.

Yeah, it's cool how he takes the time out to talk to the fans on TBBS from time to time. They were twats not bringing him over to the art department for Enterprise. The aesthetics definitley suffered as a result IMO.

This is the first time I have seen you both in full trek geek mode. It's quite interesting actually - don't take it as an insult.

None taken, trek is what brought most of us to each others attention in the first place, its just not something thats a high priority to me any more, appart from when someone is offering me good money to make that ship for them.

Physically or Digitally?

digital 3D

What program will they then access it through? Flash?

I am a complete and utter Trek geek of the first magnitude. It has taken a serious role in my life since I was 6-years-old. Pouring over the TNG technical manuals as a kid seemed as natural as breathing.

It's a wonder I ever got laid.

And of course none of us would be here without Trek since fandom was how this board was born in the first place and the family of boards is all spun off from TBBS.

He just wants a series of still images that he can use for an RPG, although I beleive he also has 3D Max, so he can always make his own if I end up sending him the mesh.

Trek geeks are hawt

According to Memory Alpha, the Rhode Island was Nova class:

"Although this ship is of the Nova-class, it is different from the Equinox model it was adapted from. A different bridge dome is placed, and the gap in front of the primary hull's deflector dish is filled in. The engine nacelles and escape pods were also altered."

Some screencaps available here.

nacelle - Such a sexy word I had to look it up. I hope to bring it into everyday conversation soon.

Try and get 'Bussard collectors' into everyday conversation for extra geek points.

So I guess it's like the Nebula class variants, then.

I remember when I used to know the differences between all the different classes. The information has been pushed out my head by 65,000 spam posts. :(
