I loved the opening title sequence to the SICK FUCK films. It looked a little like the Bad Robot ones, but has an animation of Boss Hogg from the Dukes of Hazzard putting his corpulent, warty penis into a water melon.
I liked how the closing credits always read "ALL ACTORS IN THESE MOVIES ARE SICK FUCKS ANd DO NOT DESERVE CREDIT" then showed a photo of Jessica Tandy for four minutes.
Arrow has possibilities. I would like for it to make a bit more sense with regards to his life on the island. The whole show needs to have some cleverness to it, though, if it wants me to take it as serious as it takes itself. The green hood and dark, rimmed eyes does not make the lead character "something else" to me. It is a bit like Clark Kent taking off his glasses and supposedly no one can tell he and Superman are the same person. I'm willing to suspend disbelief but the trade off needs to be there - like some clever storytelling, not just practicing gymnastics all over the place and running around with his bow and arrow.
The island back story is actually rather intriguing but it's so disjointed that it's hard to follow. The island was apparently a penal colony for Chinese dissidents and some kind of (Russian?) clean-up crew was sent in to kill the last of the prisoners. Kung fu Arrow has mad warrior skills and he's number one on their public enemy list. Oliver has somehow stumbled right into the middle of this clash and he's going to need to learn how to not only defend himself but to rescue KF Arrow.
In the meantime, I hope they fill more scenes with shirtless Diggle.
You are getting more out of the flashbacks than I am. Maybe the "Secret Agent Man" theme ought to play in the background and somebody fess up to being #6.
Got interesting when the sunk ship turned up in a warehouse. Lots of potential there to tap. Daddy issues are certainly in play here. If a polar bear and black smoke show up, I'm removing that program from my Hulu subscription.
It just feels really repetitive already. Diggle and Oliver have the same conversation every week, Thea tells Oliver to OPEN UP, Lancel does something annoying, Tommy's pointless without John Barrowman...I liked the mother at first when it looked like she was an evil criminal mastermind, but it turns out she's just a victim who spends six weeks in her pyjamas until Thea gives the Oliver-talk to her.
What bothers me the most about the show is the stupid fucking angsty teenage sister. Does she never stop complaining about people? Oliver, you're too withdrawn. Mom, you're a slutty slut that's slutting around on Walter.
Shut the fuck up already, you mush mouthed little bitch. GAH!
I hate angst-filled teens on TV shows. They did it on Terra Nova, they're doing it to a lesser extent on Revolution and I think it hurts the story. Even Jeremy on The Vampire Diaries starts to wear thin when he pouts and he's a good character.
Arrow with his shirt off What are you all going on about? Arrow with his shirt off I think your expectations for this show are too high Arrow with his shirt off It was never meant to win an Academy Award. Arrow with his shirt off.
Plus, I like the martial arts fights and ignore the stupid teenager who should have died in the car crash that would teach her. Arrow with his shirt off!
